本世紀最壯觀日全蝕落在722 浙江嘉興湖州旅館爆棚

　（北京18日綜合電）被稱為本世紀最壯觀的日全蝕，將會在7月22日出現，月球的影子將從西向東，沿長江流域橫過中國，長三角是最佳觀測地區，預測日全蝕時間將長達 4至5分鐘，香港只能看到日偏蝕。內地不少觀日族已預訂酒店，日蝕地區的政府亦計劃藉此推廣旅遊。

　　這次日全蝕將從印度西部孟買開始，過印度、不丹、緬甸進入中國，從雲南、四川、重慶，一直至長三角一帶，進入太平洋。內地民衆在當日上午 8時起可見到日蝕，而上海主城區則在8時07分開始， 9時17分結束。

　　央視現場直播

　　天文學家預測，在四川、重慶、浙江、上海等地， 3億民衆可以看到日全蝕，日全蝕的時間約為4至5分鐘，比一般日全蝕平均只有3分半鐘長得多。專家提醒民衆，日全蝕開始前切勿用肉眼直接觀看太陽，以避免灼傷或造成永久性傷害，安全的觀看日蝕方法是將日蝕的影像透過針孔裝置，投射在白紙板上，當日中國中央電視台亦會現場直播。

　　由於這是平均370年以來難得的機會，不少追日族都早作准備。長三角作為日全蝕最佳觀測區，浙江嘉興、湖州的旅館，在去年已被預訂一空，上海金山區旅遊局表示，區內不少星級賓館目前訂房率約為七成，大部分是歐美、日韓的追日族。不少地區亦希望借日蝕振興旅遊業，均策劃不同的活動配合。上海、合肥等地投入數百萬元人民幣購置天文望遠鏡，在各個旅遊景點供遊客使用，上海金山區更舉行嘉年華會，吸引更多追日族延長逗留。

　　但日全蝕期間，天空會漆黑一片，當局已提醒民衆不要恐慌，駕駛者要放慢車速，高空工作者要避免在該段時間工作，民衆亦要提高警覺，防止有匪徒在日蝕期間犯案。在香港，當日可見日偏蝕，日偏蝕將在上午8時 16分開始， 10時47分結束，太空館將在6月21日下午3時舉行免費專題講座，介紹觀測日偏蝕的情形。

Shorter work hours mean fewer surgical mistakes

CHICAGO -- Surgical residents at a large teaching hospital who worked shorter shifts were less likely to make mistakes during gallbladder surgery, U.S. researchers said on Monday.


The study offers some of the first evidence that rules put into place in 2003 to limit hours worked by doctors in training resulted in better care for patients. Many doctors have argued that the limits interfere with the training of doctors but make no difference in patient care.

“We are actually surprised to find the outcomes improved,” Dr. Christian de Virgilio of the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-University of California Los Angeles Medical Center said in a telephone interview.

美國高收視影集「怪醫豪斯」將登陸台灣，公視已安排五月上旬推出，並將一口氣播放兩

季。此劇在亞洲各國早由AXN播映數年，但台灣版權始終未釋出，公視才決定爭取，讓觀

眾也有機會欣賞男主角休羅瑞連奪兩屆金球獎影帝的精彩演出。


來自英國的休羅瑞，在「怪醫豪斯」中以毫無破綻的美式口音，演活了醫術一流但講話尖

酸刻薄的豪斯，受到美國觀眾喜愛。雖然得利影視之前已發行此劇DVD並譯名為「流氓醫

生」，公視還是認定豪斯僅僅講話尖刻、並非「流氓」，頂多只是「怪」，因此採用不一

樣的片名。片中不乏較為血淋淋的手術畫面，公視會適度作修正，但以不破壞完整性為原

則。首集還有「越獄風雲」第一季女主角羅蘋杜妮客串演出，並由「X戰警」布萊恩辛格

執導。

When Anatomy finally comes back April 23—shock of shocks—George gets a storyline. Yes, our boy George once again one-ups Alex (remember the heart surgery in the elevator?) when Alex freaks out in the middle of a trauma (understandable given that his girlfriend is, like, dying). And as reported by Shonda Rhimes herself Derek and Mer are supposed to be getting married in the upcoming 100th episode, and Izzie's dying wish is to give them the wedding she may or may not be able to ever have herself.

P.S. At this point, our best guesstimate on the finale is that Izzie goes into remission (but the producers keep Katherine Heigl in line with the threat of new malignancies), while George joins the Army medical corps, sending him into the sunset in a way that keeps him available for sweeps-week guest spots if they can afford his fee.

朱立倫：桃園最有資格升格

桃園縣長朱立倫表示，桃園縣是航空城的都市，論經濟地位、整體發展與行政績效，是最有資格提出升格的縣市。
朱立倫還說，許多人擔心升格直轄市就要廢鄉鎮市，「如果有需要，部分鄉鎮應該要保留，像台北縣三重、板橋、新莊已是都會型式，人民生活在一起，不需要再分彼此，但是平溪、石碇等偏遠地區，維持鄉的型式，對民眾才有利，馬總統也頗認同」。
他表示，就區域整合的立場，行政院「3都15縣」的制度是正確方向，除了3都，是否真要設立15個縣，則考驗中央的智慧。
精省之後，他認為台灣各縣市都是「直轄縣」或「直轄市」，大都會本來就是世界趨勢，只不過中央有必要透過地制法的修正，把中央與地方政府的權利與義務說清楚，切實分工是非常有必要的。
朱立倫表示，桃園縣會單獨向行政院提出升格案，至於明年年初桃園縣人口就突破200萬，「3都15縣」制度，不會影響桃園縣因人口而升格「準直轄市」的期程，而且可說是「雙管齊下」。

味精與高鮮味精(下)

由於味精含鈉，因此有些人擔心會像食鹽一樣對人體造成不良的影響；其實味精的含鈉量只有食鹽的三分之一，平時的烹調用量又較食鹽少，所以影響並不會像食鹽般嚴重。但對於罹患高血壓、心臟病、肝臟、腎臟等疾病的限鈉患者來說，仍需嚴格控制；尤其加工食品中常利用味精來增強風味，故除了日常減少味精使用之外，也需注意加工食品，以防事倍功半。

高鮮味精，則是目前市面上常見的新式調味品，不過，它雖然也叫「味精」，其化學組成卻與味精截然不同，而是由核甘酸類物質或核甘酸與一些胺基酸調和組成。

價格雖較一般味精貴，但因其鮮度為傳統味精的六至十倍，故用量減少，並不會增加消費者的花費；而用量少，也較不會對敏感族群造成影響。

此外，高鮮味精的成分──胺基酸和核甘酸，也都是食物中的天然成分和人體中的組成原料，進入人體都可正常代謝，一般健康的人並無安全上的顧慮。只是核甘酸代謝的最終產物是尿酸，而體內尿酸過高與痛風有關，因此，患痛風的病人及體內尿酸值偏高者，應酌量使用。

從味精的成分及產生副作用的原因看來，味精基本上是無害的，美國食品藥物管理局也將味精界定為「一般認定安全」的物質，因此，除了上述提到的特殊族群外，一般消費大眾可以安心使用。

五合一藥丸 心血管病減半

在「美國心臟醫學學會」會議提出的新研究報告說，把3種舊式降血壓藥、一種降膽固醇藥和阿司匹靈結合為一的「超級藥丸」，可以使心血管疾病減半。

研究人員在印度對2,053人進行3個月實驗，把這種五合一藥丸與另外8種療法的效果加以比較。這些人都不是心臟病患，可是擁有至少一種形成心血管問題的危險因子。

「超級藥丸」的成分包括低劑量的阿司匹靈、司他汀類降膽固醇藥Zocor，以及3種降血壓藥（thiazide、atenolol和ramipril）。

這是首次對結合若干藥物主成分的多效藥丸（polypill）進行評估，以了解人體對其容忍度，並測試這種產品能否對可能引起心臟病的危險因素造成重大改變。

主持研究的加拿大麥克馬斯特大學研究員尤塞夫說：「吃一顆藥就可減少多種心血管疾病風險的可能性，引起熱烈反應，並可能使預防心臟病出現革命。」

研究結果發現，服用這種藥丸的人，血壓和膽固醇含量都顯著降低，使心臟病發作的風險降低60%，中風的風險減少50%。

尤塞夫說，人體對這種藥丸容忍度很高，也沒有因攝取多種藥物的主成分而出現問題，事實上有些成分會互相抵銷彼此的一些副作用。

高鐵接駁公車 增開中壢80班

高鐵桃園站自4月1日起，除原桃園免費接駁公車外，新闢往返中壢市區接駁公車路線，兩路線合計一天開出160班次，平均15分到35分一班車。非高鐵旅客，客運業者將依搭乘起迄區間收費。

中壢客運經理黃俊琪指出，公司將以3輛43人座大巴士和1輛21人座中巴，作為高鐵桃園站到中壢市區的「快捷公車」。旅客從中壢搭車往高鐵站免費，如果中途下車，就要收費（以一段公車費率計算為18元）。反之從高鐵站搭車到中壢市區也是免費，如果中途上車，同樣要收費。

高鐵桃園站說，「高鐵快捷公車」比現行「高鐵免費快捷專車」提供「高鐵桃園站─桃園市桃客總站」路線一天96班次。新增1條往中壢市「高鐵桃園站─中壢總站」路線一天80班次，配合高鐵列車到站時間，平均約15分至35分一班車。

配合高鐵列車最晚班車，快捷公車末班車於23時45分開出。

養小孩的錢誰出？

小薰是不想要小孩的頂客族，但之前我們聚餐時，她說和老公已經改變想法，決定還是要有個小孩。
有三個小孩的敏敏立刻提醒她，小孩的花費到底要怎麼分擔，要先談個一清二楚，不然以後一定會為錢爭吵。
敏敏接著很哀怨的對我們說，她在生了兩個女兒後，本來不打算再生，但在老公堅持下，還是拚了一個兒子。
原本老公只負責房貸，家用都是敏敏負擔，只有和婆家聚餐時，老公才會掏腰包。而生了三個小孩之後，敏敏要照顧小孩還要上班，實在太累了，打算辭去工作在家帶小孩，愛面子的老公也很爽快的答應了，還很瀟灑的說：「本來妳就可以在家當少奶奶的，是妳自己怕無聊才要去上班的呀！」
剛開始敏敏還用自己的積蓄來支付開銷，但幾個月後就必須要老公負擔全部的花費。一家五口的生活費十分驚人，像她老公這種吃飯不知米價的人是無法想像的，所以一年多後，他就不斷質疑敏敏，說她花錢如流水，對小孩有求必應，不知賺錢的辛苦。
敏敏其實已經能省則省，但她知道一定得快點上班，才能減輕家裡的壓力，所以在小孩上托兒所後，她又再回到職場，但她老公算盤打得很精，說是敏敏自己不想在家帶小孩，因此安親班和課後托育的費用都是多花的，而鋼琴、美勞等才藝課，也只是滿足大人的虛榮心，如果因沒時間自己做飯而要外食的話，也是敏敏造成的，所以這些錢全都要她負擔。
可想而知，敏敏的薪水全部用在小孩身上，自己都不敢買衣服、化妝品，但老公的電腦卻不斷升級，遊戲軟體買個不停。
敏敏訴完苦，嘆了口氣說：「大家都說愛小孩，但看看多少離婚夫妻為了小孩的撫養費上法庭，就知道要達成小孩花費的共識，是多麼困難啊！」

味精與高鮮味精(上)

有些人食用含味精的菜餚後，會出現頭痛、心悸、嘔吐等現象，以致一般人認為味精有害健康。味精真的有害嗎？新近出現的高鮮味精又是什麼？它能取代味精嗎？味精的成分為麩胺酸鈉鹽。麩胺酸是一種胺基酸，為構成蛋白質的原料，廣泛存在於天然蛋白質食品，如乳酪、豆類、玉米、番茄、素肉及素火腿中含量皆不少。早期的味精是由海藻或植物中萃取，現在多是利用發酵方式生產。某些人在食用含有味精的菜餚後，出現頭痛、胸悶、惡心、嘔吐、心悸、臉潮紅、腹痛，甚至氣喘情況加重等不適症狀；尤其是平常不食用味精的外國人，更常在吃了含味精的中國菜後出現這些現象，早期西方醫學界便將這些症狀歸因於食用了中國餐館大量使用味精的食物，因而稱為「中國餐館症候群」。

有些研究認為，這可能是因為麩胺酸是神經系統中一個重要的神經傳導物質，而對麩胺酸比較敏感的人，或許因體內麩胺酸濃度增加，刺激部分的神經系統，而引起一些反應。不過，近年來也有研究顯示，味精與中國餐館症候群並不完全相同，一些不適者可能是對食物中的其他成分過敏而歸咎於味精。事實上，味精中的麩胺酸鈉是食物中的天然成分，也是人體中的組成成分，食入人體之後的代謝就是一般胺基酸的代謝，因此味精對一般人應該是無害的。不過，除了前述對味精敏感的人之外，病況控制不良的氣喘患者，味精會加重氣喘症狀，因此食用時須特別小心。(……待續)

Yushan a frontrunner for natural wonders list

Yushan (Mt. Jade), a major natural landmark in Taiwan and the highest mountain in northeast Asia, presently ranks among the frontrunners to make a list of the world's seven natural wonders.

The Yushan National Park Administration nominated the mountain to represent Taiwan in a selection by people around the world via the Internet.

The worldwide polls are held by a foundation based in Switzerland to select seven world wonders in the categories of landscape, sea view, island, mountain, cave, forest, and lake on earth.

Yushan has defeated more than 1,000 nominated natural wonders to rank among the top 261 places on the overall list in the first round of voting.

A total of 77 natural wonders — 11 in each of the seven categories — will be picked out of the 261 places in the second round of balloting that will conclude on July 7.

Officials at the Yushan National Park Administration said about 40,000 people scale Yushan every year and close to 20 percent or 8,000 mountain climbers are from abroad.

They said people should give their ballots to the more friendly and reachable mountains rather than the inaccessible ones, on which most people have no chance to set foot.

Italy dig unearths female 'vampire' in Venice

An archaeological dig near Venice has unearthed the 16th-century remains of a woman with a brick between her jaws — evidence, experts say, that she was believed to be a vampire.
The skeleton was found amid other corpses buried in a mass grave during an epidemic of plague that hit Venice in 1576.
During epidemics, diggers of mass graves would sometimes find older bodies that were bloated, with blood seeping out of their mouth and with an inexplicable hole in the shroud used to cover their face.
Modern forensic science shows the bloating is caused by a buildup of gases, while fluid seeping from the mouth is pushed up by decomposing organs.
At the time however, "scientific texts" taught that "shroud-eaters" were vampires who fed on the cloth and cast a spell that would spread the plague.
To kill the undead creatures, a stone or brick had to be forced into the vampire's mouth so that it would starve to death.

The polar oceans are not biological deserts after all.

A marine census released recently documented 7,500 species living in the Antarctic and 5,500 in the Arctic, including several hundred that researchers believe could be new to science.
Most of the discoveries were simpler life forms known as invertebrates, or animals without backbones.
Researchers, for example, doubled the number of jellyfish-like Arctic ctenophore known to science from five to 10. One of those was the size and color of an orange, had bungee cord-like tentacles streaming off it and was living at a depth of two kilometers.
"The textbooks have said there is less diversity at the poles than the tropics but we found astonishing richness of marine life in the Antarctic and Arctic oceans," said Victoria Wadley, a researcher from the Australian Antarctic Division who took part in the Antarctic survey. "We are rewriting the textbooks."

The survey－which included over 500 polar researchers from 25 countries－took place during International Polar Year which ran in 2007-2008.

New technology helped make the expeditions more efficient and productive than in the past. Researchers used cell-phone-like tracking devices, for example, to record the Arctic migration of narwhals, a whale with a long twisted tooth, and remotely operated submersibles to reach several kilometers down into the oceans to study delicate marine animals that are impossible to collect.

Locally developed device offers hope for aortic dissection patients

Some 28.5 percent of patients with the condition known as aortic dissection who make it to surgery die. But now patients may have a greater chance of survival if surgeons have access to a device that cuts operating times and limits the loss of blood.

The head of the local surgical team that developed the device, Dr. Jeng Wei, director of the Heart Center at the Cheng Hsin Rehabilitation Center in Taipei, said he has used the device, called the vascular ring connector (VRC), with positive results on a total of 20 patients.

In 2006, the VRC became the first implanted cardiovascular device developed by Taiwanese researchers to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Wei and his team then submitted the device for approval in Taiwan before using it successfully on patients.
Aortic dissection is a condition in which a tear occurs in the aorta's inner lining, often caused by a sudden surge in blood pressure. Blood then flows between the wall's layers and forces them apart.

"The surgical risks of the (traditional) suturing method are very high due to the fragility of the dissected aorta," Wei noted.
"The VRC allows surgeons to do a quick sutureless anastomosis in less than two minutes, compared with the conventional suture technique that generally takes more than 30 minutes," he said.

中壢國小 廢植栽綠美化

中壢國小圍牆大改造，將以綠網圍籬植栽，取代水泥牆，學校保留3面圍牆，作為留念。

中壢國小校門四十餘年人行陸橋及圍牆大改造，將全面綠美化。以圍籬植栽取代過去水泥圍牆，學校讓出空間，建立行人及接送順暢空間，學校特地保留3面圍牆，作為歷史見證留念。

校長王國雄表示，中壢國小創校至今已有112年，面臨延平路大門前人行陸橋及圍牆興建已超過40年，縣政府城鄉發展局為推動空間美學，選擇文山及中壢兩所小學，作為通學綠橋和校園外部環境改造示範。

老校友指出，學校面臨台一線省道，早年發生大貨車衝入學生隊伍的車禍慘案，造成3人死亡多人受傷，各界才發動募款在民國57年興建人行陸橋。藉由改造，可在陸橋植栽花卉成為綠色走廊及垂直花園。

王國雄說，此次改造方案，拆除磚塊將回收再利用做成座椅，並遍植花木近千棵，設立雨水自動回收及定時澆灌系統，吸引鳥類、蝶、蟲棲息。

20090127Sun Moon Lake

Today 0127 is not just the end of the January of 2009 but the second day of lunar calender(Chinese calender).

It is so called the second day of Chinese New Year.

In the chinese custom we have to go back to grandma and grandpa's place.

(Here grandpa and grandma refer to mother's father and mother.)

In Taiwan we still take customs very seriously~
So we head for mid-Taiwan ,Taichun.

The first stop is "Sun Moon Lake" which is the most famous landscape of Taiwan.
Almost everybody knows about it.
It is the most high lake of course it is in the mountain.
I have a very seriou carsickness during the whole jounrney.
Why?
Cos I only slept 1 hour before we started this trip to the toss time in car at 6 a.m.
To the fear of terrible traffic jam, we didn't stop at any rest area such as our favorate one "bridgess hall."
But those sickness rushed away when I saw the beautiful scene.
The water is so clear .
It is in green-blue cos that lake full of salt water~
We sailed boat for about 1 hour and the was extremely tire.
I cooperated with my sister ,Sydney.
We row to the middle of the lake and said hello to the people who is having lunch in "The Richforest",a famous restaurant right beside the lake.
After the tired row, we walked gracefully into "The Richforest"too.
